As we get caught up in all life has to offer-or in some cases all life throws at us, we neglect some things that we should pay a little more attention to. Here are some examples:
We all see the picture perfect people in all the ads, skinny, fit, muscular, and completely unlike most of us and unlike most of the people we know. Whether is it is smoking; alcohol; eating right; getting more exercise; or just getting enough sleep, most of us have a health issue we could pay more attention to.
Do you ever feel like there is hardly a minute for those that are supposed to mean the most to us in life? I'm not talking about the withdrawals that we go through when the kids move away-I'm talking about everyday life. Turn the TV off and make it a priority.
I am not an exceptional handyman.so there are always things in the house that need some repair. The big one right now is the lights in the garage, they haven't worked for at least a few years and now that I have the time, I don't have the know how. I need to hit up some of my more handy buddies at church and ask for some help. After that, it'll be something else for sure!
A few years ago, I loved the deal I got buying used tires for my car. I tried to do the same thing a month or so ago and after making several calls, there just weren't any used tires (for either of my vehicles) to be had. Everyone is running tires past where they have any use left now. Other examples.how often do you check fluid levels, tire pressure, or get your oil changed. I'm pretty good on most of those.but I am bummed that I'll have to buy new tires this time.
This one is sad.I fill out my planner every Sunday and add things in as plans are made. I try to be a pretty good steward of my time and make appropriate room for all the other areas in my life (including all the things above) but I still run out of day before I am ready to most of the time.
I think sometimes things like finances, the kids, our careers, and maybe even our hobbies take over and get some important things pushed back. Maybe that is okay for a day but a lot of times, one day turns in to two and before you know it, something goes terribly wrong because it was neglected for too long. I'm kind of bummed out realizing that it has been over a week since I played my ukulele; I need to make time for that!
