Introduction:

Pets are great to own. Whether you have a large animal that needs a lot of attention, or a small animal that doesn't need that much care, you are sure to own a great pet.

Dog

Dogs are great pets that require a lot of attention. If you have a lot of time to spend with your pet and are looking for great companionship, a dog will make a great pet. Be sure to remember that a dog will need to be taken outside a lot to do its duty.

Cat

Cats make very good pets, are pretty easy to take care of and provide you with love. Although cats are pretty easy to take care of, they do need attention. The owner will need to change the kitty litter box and make sure your cat has food and water often.

Fish

Fish are one of the easiest pets to take care of as they require very little care. Depending on the type of fish, they may need to be fed up to once a day. Usually you can get away with changing the water once a month. It is helpful if you have a filter in your tank.

Hamster/Gerbils

If you are the type of person that doesn't like a whole lot of interaction with your pets then a hamster or a gerbil may be the right pet for you. Although they do require some attention, they may not be as pesky and follow you around as much as an animal like a dog or cat. These pets can be the perfect pet if you plan to travel as they can be left alone for up to three days at a time. It is important for you to change the bedding in the cage once a week.

Reptiles

Reptiles can make the perfect pet if you prefer a cold blooded pet. Turtles, lizards, frogs and other reptiles don't require a lot of attention and they usually prefer to be left alone. Most of these reptiles do require heat lamps which is important to keep their living space at the right temperature.
