With just a little imagination and a few supplies, you can put those plastic milk jugs to good use for your home and garden instead of throwing them in the trash.
Use uncut milk jugs in either 1/2 gallon or gallon size to store beans, pet food or other dry goods.
*Make sure to thoroughly wash and dry them before you reuse.
Cut down plastic milk jugs to create a square storage container that can be used in the fridge or freezer to contain things like ice cubes or hard boiled eggs. Use a Sharpie to label the storage cube.
Create rectangular plant stakes for indoor or outdoor gardens. Cut a 2-inch to 3-inch section of the plastic milk jug side panel to fashion into a weatherproof plant stake. Cut into a point on one end in order to easily secure it into the plant soil, and use a Sharpie or other permanent marker to label the plant.
The top portion of a plastic milk jug makes a great scoop for dog food or even a funnel. Cut about 1-inch below the handle. Glue the lid if you plan to use it as a scoop, or leave open to use as a funnel.
Plastic milk jugs make great luminarias for your walkway, porch railings or to give a dramatic effect to a pool area. Use the bottom half of a jug, fill with sand and add a small tea light or votive candle. You can even decorate your luminaria with snowflakes or other holiday symbols drawn with a permanent marker.
Love these ideas. Anything to help the world out and make it a better place. Thanks for sharing this list.

They make great mini greenhouses for planting seeds in prior to the warm season, too.
