Thanksgiving is a good time to take inventory of what we have gained thus far. It doesn't take much time, to sit down, and ponder all the wondrous reasons to be thankful and to give thanks for the little things.
Life is most obvious. If you are here, reading this list you have been gifted another day -you must also have pretty decent eyesight as well. Thank God! The air we breathe and the eyes for which we can see are easily taken for granted, and though it may seem corny to point out, it is still reason enough to be very thankful.
Look around you. There are a thousand and one reasons to be thankful! The blessings are everywhere; they are the birds, trees, oceans, lakes, streams, mountains, wild life. Can you imagine life without these things? If you look really close, I'll bet you can count at least five things to be thankful for as you read this list. In fact the more you challenge yourself to count your blessings, the more blessings you can count on to come your way.
Family is the most important reason to be thankful especially at thanksgiving. Even if you don't "care for", or "like" some of your family members, they are your family. Don't be afraid to set the example and show them how to live a blessed life. You didn't get to choose your family, but they can teach you a lot about yourself. The good thing about family is unconditional love; even the worst of families' still love each other. If you" like" all of your family members-great! If not, make it a point to show them how grateful you are to have them in your life. Strive to be different, love them anyway and be thankful they are there.
Who doesn't want love? However, one does not have to be married, have a boyfriend/girlfriend or even be in a relationship to find or have love. Love can be found anywhere--everywhere you are. You can love your pets, family, children, and nature. Love comes in many forms and all that is required is an open heart. If you open your heart and put love out there, you will begin to notice an abundance of love coming back your way. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and to love those around you.
They say that if you can count at least five good friends you are extremely lucky. If you have even just one, that is enough to be thankful! Friends are hard to come by, so cherish them. Everybody has at least one friend, they can appreciate. If not get out there and make one.
Begin each day thanking God for what you already have. If you do this, it will be like tending to a crop of vegetables. Take good care of the crop, and it will produce more.
Wonderful reasons for giving thanks. Thanks! :)
