We tell our children we love them every day. But how we tell them is as important as the words.
Of course, tell them. Tell them in the morning, afternoon, and night. Tell them with feeling. Look them in the eye and tell them.
Providing for our children's needs shows them they are loved. A child who has his or her needs met, will feel safe, secure and loved.
Be consistent in discipline. A child who is disciplined with love and firmness and who can predict what will happen, feels love. They will not have to worry, fear, or wonder what to expect.
We are all busy all the time. But our children won't be children for long, and they crave and need our attention. Be sure to take some time each day to just listen to your child. Let them choose an activity to do together.
Hug them. Hug them. Hug them. We all need loving touch. A big bear hug for a child, or even just a one arm hug for that sensitive teenager shows them they are loved by you.
There are so many ways to show love to our children. These are but a few; five to be exact! But, the very act of trying to show love, shows love! You can be sure your children will grow up and pass that love on to a time you will not see but will have touched with a priceless gift.
