Dating a neighbor can seem like a good idea. But sometimes, it's just a disaster waiting to happen.
While some neighbors don't care what happens in each other's personal lives, inevitably everyone will figure out that there is some hanky-panky going on. The rumor mills get going and can cause battles between you and your significant other if they get out of hand. Plus, there is the never-ending ribbing and commentary.
Sometimes when you are dating your neighbor, it feels like you are right on top of each other. Relationships need some breathing space at times, especially in the beginning as you are getting to know each other. Close proximity can sometimes cause you to accidentally be together more than you had intended.
You can easily run into your neighbor everywhere. Hitting up the local grocery store or laundromat if you are battling or have broken up can make things even more difficult. Sometimes, there are just no other routes in and out of the neighborhood.
Let's say love does not prevail, and the two of you break up. If that ex is a neighbor, it becomes much easier to stalk your house. When are you home? Who is at your house? She may even camp out in your yard....
Dating a neighbor can be great. But it can also be just like dating anyone else you meet anywhere else. Some relationships just are not meant to work out. Don't let the neighbor status determine whether or not you're meant to be. Always look at the other person, how you feel about the relationship, and how you feel in the relationship.
Great list.
Nice one!
