This list may be the same reasons you have chosen to be a writer, or perhaps your reasons are different. Either way, I encourage you to read my list and base your own decision to be a writer on your goals and dreams.
I have always enjoyed helping others. Being a writer has opened up many new doors for me so i am able to share my knowledge with more than my immediate acquaintances. My niche is homemaking, and I am able to provide advice and experience in the many aspects of taking care of a household and raising a family.
For me a flexible work schedule is important. After experiencing the emotional, financial and physical strain during my son's illness, I decided me working from home was the best option for us. Thankfully he has been cancer-free for almost four years now, but with appointments and other obligations I still enjoy the flexibility working from home provides.
Being a writer allows me more time to spend with my family, while still earning enough to help out with household bills. I am able to work while they are at work/school and enjoy the evenings with them. I am also able to work around their schedules so we have together time when the weekend comes.
Working at home has its advantages. Granted there are a few disadvantages, but even those can be dealt with to maximize a positive experience. With the power of the internet, a writer is able to work for many clients at a time and deliver assignments on time no matter where the client is located.
For me this is the best part. I am able to write about the topics I am passionate about while helping others. Plus I am able to earn a living by offering copywriting, proofreading and editing services in addition to my ebooks and articles.
Being a writer does take discipline, but the advantages far outweigh the effort required. If you don't follow your dreams, you will never know that's what you really wanted.
Thank you! I can only wish for it to be helpful to others as well. Have a great day!
Great list and thanks for sharing! H5
