It is important to use a waterpik to make sure you get all the extra food particles out of your teeth. There are benefits that a waterpik can do that a toothbrush and floss can't.
A waterpik will come with a basic tool you can use to attach to your unit. There are additional tools for you to use that you can purchase as well. A tongue scraper, toothbrush tip and a plaque picker are just a few tools you can buy. Attach the tool that you want to use onto your waterpik.
You will now want to fill the unit with warm water. Fill it up to the top so you don't have to refill the water in the middle of using the waterpik. Warm water is best to use especially if your teeth are sensitive.
Tilt the tool at an angle to get between the gums and teeth when you clean. Start at one side of your mouth and clean both the inside and outside.
It is important to dry the waterpik unit once you are done to avoid any mold growth inside. If you don't use all of the water during the cleaning process, be sure to dump the excess out.
The last step you want to do is brush and floss your teeth after you use a waterpik. The waterpik is a step to cleaning your teeth before you use your toothbrush and floss. If you want, you can use the waterpik after you brush and floss along with using it beforehand as well.
I've only used a electric toothbrush, now I learned the benefits of a Waterpik. Just might have to pick one up, keeping the teeth clean is heart and health smart. HI5
