Most of us spend the majority of our weeks caged in a cubicle focusing on just how many hours are left until the weekend. When the weekend finally does roll around, you should have something to do that you've really been looking forward to. If you're a sports fan who loves to kick back and catch a game, participating in fantasy football is like taking that excitement to a whole new level. There is a new reason to watch every game on Sunday and each and every play has a chance to make your day.

Personal Interaction

You may not have three TV's in your living room, but odds are that the local sports bar does. Fantasy football gives you a great reason to head out with your buddies on Sunday, grab some wings and a pitcher and root for all of your players.

To Exercise Your Mind

There is a lot more to fantasy football than just picking players with good stats. You've got to delve into the sport, learn the stats, check the weather, keep an eye on injuries and focus on individual match ups. If you want to succeed at fantasy football, you need to really become a student of the game and of the players.

Passion and Competition

If you feel as though your life is lacking a little bit of edge or competitive fire, fantasy football can be a great way to ignite that. Plenty of football fans are passionate about their teams and that passion grows once there is personal competition involved. As the weeks go on and you begin to invest more time in your team, you will become more involved in the trash talking. Before you know it, you'll not only be interested in seeing your players do well but you'll be determined to see your team win and advance into the playoff round. your team will become a healthy obsession.

Money/Bragging Rights

Not every league out there is a money league, but those that are can bring a pretty hefty payday to the overall winner. A nice big lump of cash at the end of a season of fun and hard work is a huge reason to play fantasy football. Even if the league you are participating in isn't for dollars and cents though, if you are playing with group of friends or co-workers it's certainly very nice to carry around the title of league champion until next year rolls around.
