It's that time of year again when the thought of making a fresh start makes us all warm and tingly. You know, the time when you proudly announce the big changes you intend to make in your life in the form of New Year's resolutions. This year, I've decided to beat the let down that soon follows by proudly announcing the resolutions I won't be making.
Like many of you, I have begun the new year with the announcement I am finally going to lose weight more times than I care to count. It starts out great, but somewhere between New Year's and about the 5th of January everything falls apart. This year, I'm not vowing to lose weight.
Yes, this one tops my list every year, but somehow it never quite succeeds. At this point I don't even care why. I won't be vowing to quit smoking for New Years this year.
Sticking with the desire to get healthy and feel better, I usually add eating better to my list. Not this year. I'm not falling for it again.
Who am I kidding, anyway? Taking the dog for a nice walk is the furthest I've been from my computer all year, what makes me think that the arrival of a new year - and mounds of snow - is going to change anything.
Okay, so I don't quite qualify as a hoarder, but I do have a few too many things in my life. But I'm not vowing make a clean sweep and rid my life of clutter this year.
As we all know, New Year's Resolutions are seldom kept - so I've decided the best way to meet them is to vow not to make them. Go ahead, give it a try. You never know what might happen.
Right on! H5!
Funny list. I like the reverse ideas here. Thank you for the fun read.
Sounds like some of the ones I'm not going to make either. H5
