Lavender oil is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic that prevents infection and promotes healing. If you rub lavender directly on the skin, it will cool, soothe and heal burns.
This is a great do-it-yourself recipe that makes up quickly. Add three drops each of Chamomile and peppermint essential oils to a tablespoon of unscented hand cream. Mix well and apply it to the burned area. The Chamomile will soothe the skin while the peppermint cools it.

Although some would disagree, toothpaste has been found to be an acceptable treatment for minor burns. It seems its antiseptic and cooling qualities provide immediate relief as well as protection from dirt, which can lead to infection.
Pure vanilla extract poured or dabbed on the burn will relieve the pain of most minor burns. Not only will it draw the heat away from the burn; but it will prevent scarring. For maximum relief, apply the vanilla extract every two to three hours.
I use cooled green tea bags to go directly on burn. Very soothing. I also use pure aloe infused with laveneder & chamomile. Excellent list and timely for the dog days:-)
