Introduction:

Hollywood has no shortage of divorces, but not all divorces in Hollywood are expected, much like some of the marriages! Here, is a short list of shocking, celebrity divorces!

Tom Cruise and Katey Holmes

After how in love these two have appeared to be over the past six years since Cruise proclaimed his love for Holmes while jumping up and down like a monkey on national television down to the birth of their daughter, I didn't see this one coming, not at first that is.

Many people had to start speculating something was different when Cruise and Holmes were seen apart more than together, each returning to a career. For Cruise, it was back in the spotlight on stage, and a comeback dressed as many would not expect to find the married, ultraconservative and very religious Tom Cruise.

Heidi Klum and Seal

Seven years of marriage, three children together and that renew of marriage every year, these two appeared to be head-over-heels in love. That is why they shocked Hollywood with their announcement in January of 2012 that they were divorcing.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Marriage-Gate, or maybe Scam-Gate, after all the time, publicity and money involved in these nuptials, the only shock was that the marriage only lasted *gasp* 72 days! Yup, but, that isn't nearly the record. After all, Who can forget Britney's less then 72 hour marriage? Still, despite the love these two lacked, one would have thought they would have at least tried to make it last a year. Of course, where would the press and reality programming fun be with that?

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

Who could forget the shock when it was announced that Britney married a nobody . . .and then less then 55 hours later, the marriage was officially annulled.

Britney did go on to marry again, and that marriage lasted a lot longer, but two children later, Britney was divorced again.

Right now, she's moving on to lucky number three, good luck Britney, I hope this lasts longer than most Hollywood marriages.

Kenny G and Lyndie Benson-Gorelic

After 20 years of marriage this celebrity couple called it quits. According to the Huffington Post, the court filing cited "irreconcilable differences." The couple have two children.




Final Thoughts

This is just a short list. There are still plenty of other shocking celebrity divorces and some that are close to coming to an end.
