If you're tired of rising gas prices taking a huge chunk out of your wallet, fight back and learn how to save fuel.
One sure way to save fuel is to simply don't drive. Walking is great excerise and if it's possible, walk to work, school or to the store.
Find a buddy or two and carpool to work. Schedule turns driving to work. You can drive one week and your buddy can drive the next. If you can't find someone to carpool with, some cities have a carpooling hotline you can call to find someone.
If you live where there's public transportation available, give up the car altogether and begin taking the bus. A monthly pass will be much less than filling the car up weekly.
Before running out to do errands, sit down and plan your route. Plot your errands so you can run them in an efficient orderly manner with the least amount of driving.
Change the oil in your car on a regular basis to keep it running top notch and fuel effecient. Also avoid jackrabbit stops and starts and accelerate and stop smoothly.
While it may not always be possible not to drive, there are little things you can do to save fuel. Walk, carpool, take public transportation or dig that bike out of the garage to save gas.
Exceptional list! Combining errands is a great idea along with all the other ones on this list.
I'd add one more and that's to economize your errands, No reason to run all over town to get an extra $.50 off on a coupon item. Just buy your stuff at the closes store and you'll save fuel.
Very timely ... thanks!
