Exercising is a pain. And sometimes causes pain too. Most of us do not have the time to squeeze in that extra half hour or so to do rigid exercises. Here are some simple exercises that you can do without any effort while going through your normal daily routines. You will get some muscles worked out a bit without even knowing you are exercising.
Whenever you sit too long especially if using the computer your neck has a tendency to get stiff. Take a few moments to roll your neck back and forth and side to side. Turn it in a circular pattern to loosen up the muscles around the neck and shoulders. A minute or two of this will help alleviate neck tension.
Many people have dogs and take them out for walks daily. Go a block further today. You will get some extra exercise and allow your blood to flow a little more at the same time. While you are getting a little walking work out so will your dog and he or she may just want to take on a few extra blocks too just for fun as time goes by.
When carrying the laundry basket to the laundry room lift it up and down as if it was a bar bell weight. That little up and down morion will give your arms a slight work out that won't cause pain but doing so at each load will be more than what you got before. Then when the items need to be removed from the dryer squat down and up after each piece is removed. This may take a few minutes but you will be getting a little work out to the thigh muscles and leg muscles while you being the process of folding laundry.
Sit ups take time and a lot of effort if you are not used to doing them. Start out in the morning before you get up. That's right, do them while you are in bed. It is a lot easier on your hip muscles and spine. The effect is not the same as if you did them on the floor but it is still exercise and twice as many on the bed is almost the same as half done on the floor. So take the easy way out and do sit ups in bed. You get the exercise without the pain.
We sit for so many hours a day. One simple little exercise to do is twisting. This easy motion of moving from side to side will loosen up the hip and back muscles. The best part is you can remain in your chair while doing them. No one will be the wiser and you will feel better for it as the day goes on.
Exercise is an important part of out life style as well as a healthy diet. Do a little to help yourself each day and it will be so easy for you to live a healthier and happier life with little effort. As time goes on these steps can become a part of what you do everyday routine.
