These simple tips can help you get your kitchen as well as all your pots, pans and appliances in tiptop shape.
Take all of your pots and pans out of the cabinet. Wipe down shelves and get rid of any pots that are too damaged or that you don't use. Cast iron pans can be cleaned with coarse salt and a little scrubbing. Stainless steel pots can be cleaned with a soft cloth and white vinegar.
Use a crevice attachment with your vacuum cleaner to vacuum out all the crumbs from drawers and cabinets. Replace shelf paper where needed. Use borax and warm water to wipe down the outer side of cabinets and drawers.
Tough stains can be cleaned with baking soda on sink basins and behind the faucet. To disinfect, fill the sinks to the brim and add one cup of bleach to thoroughly disinfect.
Spring is a great time to reorganize your pantry while also taking stock of items you need to throw out and items you need to restock. Use small baskets as inexpensive organizers for spices, packets of hot cocoa or dry soups, granola bars and other individually packaged items.
Use a warm soapy cloth to wipe down the interior of your fridge and freezer walls and shelves. Throw out any expired foods or foods that have become freezer burned.
