Tons of athletic ability, plenty of muscle and all kinds of innovation propelled this brother team to the top of both the NWA(WCW) and WWE during their careers.
With moves like the "Frankensteiner," a flying bulldog off the top rope and an endless array of suplexes, you were always garaunteed an entertaining match when the Steiners were in the ring.
In a business that is all about show, it would be impossible not to have these guys near the top of the list.
Hawk and Animal entered the ring with a mohawk and reverse mohawk accompanied by intimidating face paint and black shoulder pads with enormous spikes on them. One of the biggest, strongest and most intimidating tag teams to ever enter a wrestling ring.
The Hart Foundation represented the perfect combination in a tag team. Bret Hart was fast and supremely skilled and Jim Neidhart was a big, burly brawler.
The team played the roles of both fan favorites and villains and managed to dominate the ranks of the tag teams in the WWE for years, regardless of whether they were cheered or booed.
This team was almost like a mirror image of the Hart Foundation, but from across the pond. Davey Boy Smith was an absolute tower of strength capable of manhandling opponents and Dynamite Kid was very quick and highly skilled.
This pairing dominated plenty of the high caliber talent in the WWE and was involved in some of the most exciting tag team matches in wrestling history.
Beautiful Bobby Eaton and Sweet Stan Lane may not have been as big, strong or adored by the fans as some of the other teams on this list, but that didn't stop them from holding their own or taking down some of the top tag teams ever.
The Midnight Express' style was fast, relentless and their wide range of finishing maneuvers contained no fear. It wasn't at all uncommon for the Midnight Express to be substantially outweighed by their ring opponents, but there were very few instances that they were ever outmatched.
Of course this list is purely based on my opinion, much of which may have to do with the fact that I spent countless nights at the Civic Center and Spectrum watching these very teams go at it. If anyone has any opinions of who should be added on or who should have been left off, I'd love to hear them.
I have seen all these great tag teams. Great list and thanks for the list.
