As a school project for my creativity in the workplace class, I have to implement an idea. I want to help students with their daily lives. This is for Mount Royal University students, but can be used by all others as well.
Relax, then reflect on what needs to be accomplished. You should know how many exams you have, what dates they are on and what material will be covered. The best way to stay on top of things is implementing an agenda or a planner. Allocate times prior to each of your exams for studying. Some classes may be easier then others, which would require more study time. Many students work during school semesters, it is a good idea to book some extra days off if needed. Set a goal of what you want to achieve on the exam. This will most likely be a grade level or a percentage, depending on how your school conducts grading.
Eat right! Try to get enough nutrition. Do not skip important meals, such as breakfast. Exercise! This is optional, but definitely rewarding as your energy replenishes and your mood will often become happier. This can range from going for a run, walk, bike ride or even a swim. Preferably leaving the house and taking a mental break is important.
We often make the mistake of focusing on studying and nothing else. Taking care of yourself starts with getting enough sleep. Studying late at night is proven to be less effective as our brains will not retain as much information.
We all have different ways to study and prepare for exams. Our instructors for the most part give out the materials to study in advance. Keeping up with the courses throughout the semester is vital. This means doing all the assignments, homework questions or assigned readings. If these items will be on the exam, it is easier to look back and remind yourself what they were about rather then having to start from the beginning. Time is valuable during the exams period. Do enough practice questions and read over the notes you took during the semester. If you have any questions or doubts it is important to ask your instructor or a classmate for help, as soon as possible.
The big day has come! After a good overnight sleep, wake up in the morning and have a consistent breakfast. Take a shower and get ready to go to school. Do not PANIC! You have studied and know the material, now it's time to achieve your goal. Plan to arrive to school in advance, 30 minutes to 1 hour should be plenty. Try not to discuss the material with classmates, minutes before the exam, as you might change your mind on a certain topic. Be confident in yourself and know that if you studied enough, you will do well.
GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!
