You spend so much time setting up your garden and enjoy watching your seeds grown and then it seem every insect in the world has found your garden. Here are some tips to keep them away.

Weeds can hide insect, so as soon as you see them growing pull them up. A weed control fabric will help you with that task. This also gives you a chance to look for insect eggs under leaves so you can hand pick them and get rid of them.
Slugs and snails seem to come from no where and attack your garden. A simple solution is a snail and slug trap or the old homemade beer in a shallow dish. There are also other types of insect traps that you may want to consider, depending on what type of pest you have in your region.
Start your garden early so they have a chance to be strong before pests start ravaging them during the spring. Use a frost blanket to help them get through the cold nights.
Release ladybugs in your garden and set up several bird baths to encourage birds to come near your garden. This will require you to not use chemical pesticides and to be more hands-on and diligent about your garden tasks.
