According to BIGresearch, 138 million Americans will be battling over this year's Black Friday Doorbusters. I plan on getting everything on my shopping list, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeves....
But leave the coat in the car. If you're a wuss and can't handle freezing temperatures, bring hand warmers. So why no coat? It makes your elbow less effective when wrestling doorbusters away from shoppers who were inconsiderate enough to get in your way. Work boots protect your toes when they try to stomp on your foot to get it back.
Bringing a shopping buddy makes things so much easier. They can cause road blocks while you grab the good stuff. Hold your place in line while you go get more stuff. Buy extra doorbusters in stores with ridiculous limits. After all, what are friends for?
Sure, a straight line may be the shortest way to the hot deals. But if you jag around the jewelry counter, duck under the hanging racks and leap over the pile of tacky penguin sweaters, you might avoid the hoards trampling each other trying to save steps. By the time you grab that iPod and Blu-ray player and head to check out, those slow pokes will still be tripping over each other at the front of the store.
You earn points from credit card purchases on Black Friday and get extra shopping protection. Plus it takes less time to pay with plastic. With check books, you've got to fill it out, show your ID, wait to be approved, and do nothing but waste precious shopping time. Instead, just swipe and run to the next store.
With shopping marathons beginning at 4 AM or even earlier, you don't have time for a healthy and hearty breakfast. Even a quickie at McDonald's takes too much time. Luckily, sugar from the Snickers Bar will keep you going while the protein from the peanuts will keep you full. Start to get the yawns? Pop a few chocolate covered espresso beans in your mouth, and turn into the Black Friday Energizer Bunny.
Happy Black Friday shopping! May you get all the doorbusters on your list.
I've never been Black Friday shopping, but it seems like you have it down to a science. Fun list!
LOL! I shop online...skip all the crowds. : )
Chriss, I love your writing...you're so clever and funny. #5 is my favorite one of these tips, because it's important to keep your energy level high when fighting those crowds.
You can't go wrong with tips from an expert! Great read of a list!
