Introduction:

Not everyone can go out and get a job. If you find yourself stuck at home and strapped for cash, consider these potential money making ideas as solutions to your problem!

Sell Scrap Metal

Whether you pick up aluminum cans from the side of the road or unearth a half buried bull dozier (don't laugh, we did this!) there is money to be made in collecting and selling scrap metal. Start with saving your tin cans and old grubbing hoe heads and go from there. Fill up your truck or trailer and head for the nearest scrap yard. Be sure to shop around ... some might appreciate the scrap yard that pays flat rates and does not require you to separate out the non metal parts of things, while others will be willing to do that work in order to gain a higher price per pound.

Become a Transportation Service

If you have a driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation, you might want to consider putting an ad on Craig's List, offering your services to those who are unable to drive in your community. There are many people who are too old to drive, blind, who have lost their license for driving under the influence or who, for a variety of other reasons, are unable to drive. These people are in need of transportation to the grocery store, the doctor's office, to dialysis, to AA meetings, etc. Consider renting yourself and your vehicle to those with such needs.

Teach Lessons

What do you know how to do? Can you quilt? Knit? Play the Piano? Do woodworking? Sing? Decorate cakes? Consider teaching lessons from your home to those who might be interested in learning what you can teach!

Have a Yard Sale

There are all sorts of yard sales. Perhaps you'd just like to clean out your closet and make a little cash. That's one kind. Another is where folks use coupons they get by writing to the manufacturer, and by purchasing them from coupon companies, and who buy premium products when they're at a rock bottom price ... and then sell them for a profit (but still a discounted price) at a product yard sale. Perhaps furniture is your thing ... buy it cheap, fix, refinish or paint it, and sell it for a profit at a yard sale of flea market.

Bake Cakes

Everyone you know is busy, and everyone you know eats cake. Everyone you know needs a birthday cake several times a year, a graduation cake, a baby shower cake, a retirement party cake. Learn how to decorate cakes and print yourself some business cards and voila, you are in business!




Final Thoughts

Sometimes all we need do to make a little extra money is to cast a fresh eye upon our own interests and talents!
