Not everyone is a die hard fan of politics, however there are many who spend day and night breathing in and exhaling politics. For those who are not die hards, but try to keep up, you may want to know some of President Barack Obama's verifiable top five accomplishments.
The adjective extraordinary, is an understatement for this accomplishment. Regardless on which side of the political spectrum you reside, the fact is; this is positive for us all as a nation, especially for family members whose loved ones were still in Iraq facing constant danger.
Let's just say that the cheering heard throughout the free world, especially from the thousands in New York City, lend volume to this accomplishment. Although terrorism will always exist, ridding terrorist leaders certainly slows their process of re-attacking. Where our former President George W. Bush failed, President Barack Obama prevailed.
During President Barack Obama's first six months, he visited more countries and world leaders than any other US president before him. A major step for our country, since after the Iraq war, the United States' likeability factor was detestable throughout the world. We now have better relationships throughout the world, which has also led to more business with the rest of the world.
The "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy, a policy put in place by President Bill Clinton, forced soldiers to either lie about their sexual orientation, or say the truth and face the consequence of being dishonorably discharged; a clear case of discrimination. Repealing this policy returned confidence back to our soldiers, who can now freely join our army and reserve their privacy.
Not only did President Barack Obama rescue American car manufacturers, General Motors and Chrysler, he also saved an estimated one million jobs, which would have been lost if the auto manufacturing giants had disappeared.
There are many other accomplishments to be mentioned, but for now these are my top 5, what are yours? -dc
