Spring is here and so are the bugs! You can make an organic bug repellent that is not full of carcinogenic chemicals. All you need is water, eucalyptus oil and clove oil to ward off bugs in the house. This repellent is not as strong as a can of Raid but it works good as bugs hate this stuff, and it's non-toxic. I spray it every other day in places where spiders, ants and other crawling bugs come into my home.
You can use any spray bottle that has been cleaned out good or you can buy one from the store for your homemade bug repellent. It's better to use a quality spray bottle because the cheap ones tend to quit spraying after a while.
Buy a small bottle of eucalyptus oil from a health food store or grocery store. Some grocery stores have a special section with Mexican products where you may find eucalyptus oil.
Buy a bottle of clove oil from any store that carries essential oils. Clove oil is often in the baking section of the grocery store.
You can use distilled water or tap water as the carrier for your bug repellent. Distilled water has less chemicals in it, but either one works fine.
Fill the spray bottle almost full with warm water. I use warm water because the oils seem to blend in better at first. Add a few drops of eucalyptus and clove oil and shake it up gently. Spray the bug repellent in registers, along door entrances and along the floor boards in your home. Repeat every other or every few days to keep the bugs out.
Thanks for posting these steps. I am going to have to try it. The bugs should be coming out soon here. Well done.
