Sunday nights are now a favorite television night at our house. At ten o'clock Eastern time, Alaska State Troopers comes on. Here are the top five reasons to watch.
Of course, there are bears because it is Alaska. If you enjoy bear encounters, you will get that here. Tonight's episode involved the discovery of an illegal baited trap. It was very exciting as they expected grizzlies to attack at any time. They didn't, but it was exciting. Last week, bears arrived during a fishing check.
You have seen the glaciers, but this show presents the beauty of the Alaska summer. The long days provide plenty of opportunities for criminal activity, but beautiful views that you may not associate with Alaska.
If you enjoyed Sarah Palin's Alaska on Sunday nights, it was over too soon. You can get a little more of Alaska with this show on the National Geographic Channel.
These state troopers are a little different than the officers that you see in the lower 48 states. The playing field is different, and they often say and do things that are unexpected to those of us watching from afar.
It is immediately clear when you watch Alaska State Troopers that these people are a little different than most of the rest of us. This rugged individualism and hearty spirit is what built our country; it is dying, so watch this show to see it before it's gone.
If you have not watched Alaska State Troopers on the National Geographic Channel, you should definitely tune in. You may not realize how much that you will like it.
