Introduction:

Interviewing for any job can be nerve wracking for some individuals. Others seem to glide in and make a good impression without much effort, or do they?

Here is my list of 5 things you should not do in an interview.

Do Not Enter With a Negative Attitude

Whether they realize it or not, some individuals enter an interview with a negative attitude about themselves. For instance, they may go to the interview thinking that there is no way they will get the job.

This is unnecessary and it produces emotional vibrations for the interviewer. If you go in with a negative attitude, you are sabotaging your own efforts, before you can even get started. Do no enter an interview with a negative attitude about yourself!

Do Not Dress Inappropriately

Regardless of the type of job you are interviewing for, you will need and want to look your best. However, you should take time to consider the clothing you will wear.

Make sure that it is well pressed and has no wrinkles. You really cannot help traveling wrinkles and most people understand this.

If you are well endowed, great, but do not flaunt this to your interviewer. It may work for some, but it really does make a bad impression on so many other interviewers. Play it safe, cover them up as best you can and still look great.

Control the Humor Factor

Interviewing is part of business. Interviewing can make some people uncomfortable and they may try to cover their nervousness by going overboard with humor.

There is of course, nothing wrong with humor, but it does have its place and while interviewing may not be appropriate or it may make a bad impression of your not being a serious person or worker.

While interviewing control the humor factor, you can dazzle them later with your unique sense of humor.

Do Not Get Too Personal

Since interviewing for a new job is very important when it comes to getting a job, it is best that you do not get too personal with your interviewer.

He or she is there doing their job, it is not a party or a get together. Do not give out too much information about your own personal business and affairs. Do not try to make a pass at your interviewer. Remember, this is Business.

Do Not Be Disrespectful to Other Workers or People

When you want to make a great impression, do not be disrespectful to other workers on the job or any people who are waiting to be interviewed.

Whether you realize it or not, the staff will work together, if you make a bad impression on any of them, they may alert the interviewer as to the situation, which can influence your odds of getting the job negatively.

As far as the other people, who knows one of them may be the next person to interview you for a job. Chances are they will remember any disrespect they may endure at your hands.

Final Thoughts

Interviewing for a new job can be so much easier if you just try to do the right things to make the best impression. Remember this list of 5 things you should not do in an interview, when you begin searching for your next job.
