Times are hard right now for many people but on this day, Thanksgiving Day, I think most of us can find things to be thankful for none the less. Not to make light of any suffering some may be enduring, I respectfully submit the following for your consideration!
What can I say? I'm an American. I've never been hungry (and unable to go and eat) a day in my life. I don't take that for granted. If you look around you in the world, you will see that many ARE hungry. People die of starvation every day. Today my family is gathering and will share a sumptuous meal. Thank you, Lord. I am grateful!
I have a roof over my head and it doesn't leak. I don't live in a mansion, but neither am I in a box beneath a bridge. And furthermore, my humble little abode is cleaner than usual because of all the hands that pitched in to make it that way for our company today! Am I thankful for this? YOU BET!
My sister and most of her precious family will be celebrating Thanksgiving with me this year! I have lost a father, a mother and a brother. Life has taught me to have gratitude for what I have, while I have it. And my sister is the world's best, which makes it even better!
I'm honestly not trying to be funny, but don't you know what I mean? You never appreciate something you have until something happens to it be it a broken leg or a paper cut! So hey ... add it to your list! If it doesn't hurt, be thankful!
What do you have that would feel lost without? I've given this some thought ... for me, it would be my dogs, my books, my computer and Internet connection, yard, fabric, my camera and Photoshop. I am truly blessed!
I wish each and every one of you who happens to read this today, a blessed and safe and joyful Thanksgiving Day!
H5...great reminder for me. One Thanksgiving, our pastor challenged us to come up with a list of things we were thankful for...I came up with over 100! I need to re-do the list...one of the things wiped out when the computer crashed!
I can finally leave a comment on this thankful list so well done. I too am prayerful for all my blessings.
