Anyone can deliver a compliment. If you have never been a person who compliments people, read these and learn how to do that. Your life will be enriched far beyond imagination and will also do that for the lives of the people you give a compliment to.
When you are going to give a compliment, it must be an honest one. Some people are really keenly in tune when something nice is said and is not true. Sooner or later the truth will come out. If a compliment is not said in truth it could hurt someone when they find out it was not truly meant. A compliment should never hurt someone, so begin with honesty at the onset of saying something nice to someone.
Some compliments are not appropriate. Choose your environment, the person, your language and deliver your compliment correctly. An example of an inappropriate compliment would be: "I like your dress, I have the same one I bought 5 years ago sitting in my closet that I have never worn." Another inappropriate compliment could contain a hidden message that is not so hidden." I'd like to have lunch with you again when you are not rushed like last time we met".
Think before you say a compliment. The words you choose will be wise ones and do a great job if you ponder before you open your mouth. Saying a compliment out loud to yourself will give you an honest idea of how it will sound to someone else when it is delivered. A true great compliment is one that has the right structure of chosen words.Compliments don't have to be complex. They can be simple and simply delivered. Start using compliments where they are and should be said.
Have you noticed that people sometimes don't hear the compliments given to them? Have you ever said a compliment and a person did not respond to it? They might not have heard it! Select the volume which will deliver your compliment the first time to the individual you wish to hear it.Wait and see if it was heard before you leave to make sure it was received. Some people actually rarely or never get a compliment, so they don't know that bunch of nice things could be meant for them. Make sure the person gets your compliment. Say it loud enough! Wait and check to see their reaction which will tell you they know the compliment is theirs.
There are Veterans that have never been complemented on their service to their country. Talking to the person in uniform about their branch of service will allow you to find out something to compliment them about while you converse. If you think everyone has had a compliment for the day, think again. Look at your own family and give a compliment to each of them everyday. You might have to search for that special, honesty compliment, but it is there for the saying. In the event you never have another day on the earth with that person, make sure you give the compliments while they and you are alive to give and receive them.
