Fluid build up in the system caused by water retention usually settling in the limbs is edema. This is relatively common in appearance. Although some people of all ages may have it, it could be a symptom of other conditions and should be relieved with diuretics.
Simply put, Hyper-Thyroidism means that your thyroids are working over time. Hypo-Thyroidism means that they are working slower. Hyper-Tension means that your blood pressure is above normal, Hypo, the very opposite.
Cardio-Vascular, Echo-Cardiogram, Cardiogram, any words with cardio attached to or combined with, relates to the heart and the related systems of the heart. It's quite common.
This usually refers to Upper Respiratory infections such as pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis. Anything relating to the upper chest and upward towards the throat is considered upper respiratory.
Acute simply describes the urgency of the condition. If you have sharp and severe pain, it's acute pain. Acute does not mean that it will be long-lasting; it's a sudden onset.
