Baking Soda is a wonderful non-toxic household product that I use for many things. The best thing about baking soda is the price.
Baking soda was used for years as a cold and flu fighter. The side of the box had directions to drink a teaspoon of baking soda for boosting the immune system against colds, flu and sickness. I do this almost daily.
An inexpensive way to whiten clothing and remove stains, is to heat a pan of water to boiling, turn down to medium high and add a cup of baking soda for a minute to release the soda agents. Turn off the stove and soak the laundry overnight to remove stains and whiten clothing. Works great!
Add a cup of baking soda to your small bucket of warn water to clean everything in the kitchen or bathroom. Pour some baking powder down the sink or tub drain and let sit to remove bad odors.
Add 1/2 cup or more baking soda to your bath to help stop itching, alkalize and exfoliate the skin and feet. This works good for kids or adults with chicken pox or poison ivy.
Baking soda makes a great tooth paste without the toxic fluoride and sodium laurel sulfate that causes canker sores with many people. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda along with a dash of clove oil to make a natural, good smelling and refreshing mouthwash.
