Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is an event that happens around the country from July through November.
A walker begins their journey months before the actual events. Each walkers is required to raise $2,300. A task that requires many hours of emailing, phones and networking.
Aside from fundraising, many walkers begin training for their 60 mile walk six months before the event. With long ten to twenty miles walk on weekends, they can spend up to twenty hours a week training.
No interested in blisters? Being a crew member is a great way to contribute the the 3 Day for the Cure event.
Crew members are required to arrive at the event a day earlier making it a four day long adventure. The crew members are the first to rise and last to bed.
If you do not have four days to commit, consider being a volunteer. About a month or two before each event, volunteer positions are posted.
You can help out all three days or just an afternoon. It is up to you!
Want to show off your inner cheerleader? Be one of the hundreds of spectators that cheer on the walkers during their jounrey.
From handing out Popsicle to making signs, spectators keep the walkers going!
Remember that $2,300 each walker needs to raise? They would not get there without donors. You can donate by check, online and in person.
