Introduction:I used to Usher Football games, both College and Professional. The hardest part is deciding who goes in and who does not. At Northwestern University you just had to stand there and look through purses (never touching) and back packs too, to make sure that nothing illegal or dangerous came pass you........
Just imagine a strong-arm and a fan's reaction to a team's loss or penalty....... No firearms or any weapons are allowed into a Basketball game.
Of course no umbrellas because they can be used as a weapon. It seems that they would be listed in with the weapons but umbrellas are weather conditional items that people may not understand being denied into the game. Some folks needed one to travel to the game. But they're not allowed inside of any stadium because of dangerous potential.
No alcohol is allowed inside a stadium. Of course some sell drinks to the patrons but to bring it inside is simply not allowed. The person must be searched if it is suspected.
The Vendors at the games are there to make money on their sell of food and drinks. No whole orders of breakfast, lunch or dinner food items are allowed into the game. Only light food for diabetics are allowed inside as well as small snacks for the tot. It's up the Usher's discretion.
You are not there to cover the game. That's what the media is for. Any camera or video equipment to tape the game is not allowed.
Never knew umbrellas were not allowed.
Thanks for this very useful list. H5!
Good list. I do miss many things I could do in my youth that are now restricted. Security is a big concern today.
I did not know about #2. Useful information too.
Wow, I learned what not to bring into a basket ball stadium. I was not awrare of some of these like the umbrella. That makes perfect sense.
