Cats aren't for everyone. Some people simply don't like them--although I can't imagine why.
Don't take purring for granted. Research has revealed that sound vibrations between 20-140 Hz are effective in healing bone fractures, pain relief, wound healing, muscle and tendon repair and growth and increases the mobility of joints. The cat's purr falls within this range of vibrations and may promote healing and health.

Most cats are loving creatures that enjoy spending time cuddling with their owners. People who own cats feel less lonely and are less likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease or heart attack. In fact, those who do not own cats are 40% more likely to suffer from a heart attack.
Cats are independent creatures and don't require a lot to time and attention to their needs. Unlike dogs, cats are perfectly able to occupy themselves for hours and don't need you to take them out for a walk.
Provide them with fresh water, healthy food and a clean litter box and cats can take care of themselves. Most do not require grooming, as they spend hours grooming themselves and keeping their fur in tip-top shape.
Cats remain playful throughout their lives and are happy chasing a string or scurrying after balls. But cats don't need special toys--they are equally at home playing with your pencil, an old thread spool or even the cap to the milk jug.
Having a cat for a pet brings health benefits, as well as hours of enjoyment. If you've never had a cat for a pet, don't you think its time you give one a try?
