Although losing weight is not always an easy task, the steps to eliminate calories can be quite simple. One pound of body fat is equal to 3,500 calories. So to lose, you must cut back on calories you consume and/or burn more calories by physical activity.
For example, if you drink two 8-oz servings of a regular soft drink or beer daily, you can save at least 1,400 calories a week by using the low- cal version or drinking water instead.
One hour of Zumba or a low impact step class can burn from 400 - 600 calories. Work out three times weekly and you have burned 1,200 - 1,800 calories
A typical slice of chocolate cake or peach pie contains from 350 - 550 calories. If you partake of dessert twice a week, you can save 700 - 1,100 calories by skipping the dessert.
Substitute low fat yogurt with a teaspoon of granola or dried fruit for your lunch. Add some veggies or salad with low-cal dressing. If your typical lunch consists of burger and fries, you can save around 3,000 calories in a week.
An hour's walk can consume 200 - 400 calories depending on your pace. Walk three days a week and you can burn up 1,200 calories.
Follow these steps consistently and you -- and others -- will see the weight disappear.
