Metal, irrespective what type of metal makes beautiful furniture, collectables and ornaments; but then it must be kept shiny and spotless.
For lacquered objects, wash in lukewarm sudsy water, rinse and dry; buff with a soft cloth. For bright finishes, wash in hot sudsy water and rinse; apply brass polish with a soft cloth or brush; let polish dry thoroughly then buff with a soft cloth. For dull finishes, mix finely powdered pumice and linseed oil to form a cream; apply with a soft cloth and rub surface vigorously; wipe off excess then polish with a soft cloth.
Wipe with a damp cloth soaked in warm sudsy water; rinse; buff with a soft cloth. To remove corrosion, rub with fine scouring powder or use extra-fine steel wool.

For wrought iron, wipe with a damp cloth. To remove corrosion, rub with paraffin, and then scour with extra-fine steel wool. If persistent, use a coarser grade of steel wool.
For bright finishes, mix whiting powder and denatured alcohol to form a paste; apply with a soft cloth and rub gently; when dry, polish with a clean soft cloth; wash, rinse thoroughly; wipe dry. For dull finishes, mix finely powdered pumice and vegetable oil to form a paste; apply with a soft cloth and rub gently; wash thoroughly; rinse and wipe dry.
