The chilling wind and piles of snow outside can lead to a snow day for both kids and adults. Here are a few things to do on those rare snow days to keep yourself from getting bored.
No reason to get up early. Turn off the alarm and sleep, sleep, sleep. Catch up on all that sleep you have been missing out on for the last six months!
Who has time to clean when you spend the majority of your day working or chasing kids around the house? Spend the snow day doing the most boring thing in the world: clean! Make the kids miserable by having them help you so it can be a family fun day.
After all of that sleep and cleaning, the kids will probably still be bored. Get out some paper, glue, markers, and glitter and have the kids make a mess all over which will result in you having to do even more cleaning.
Bundle the kids up in coats, gloves, boots, hats, scarves, and 5 layers of clothing to go play out in the snow. Have a snow ball fight or build a snowman! When the kids come in, they can scatter their wet snow covered 5 layers of clothing, hats, boots, and coats all over your house, left just for YOU to clean up!
Now that all of the snow day fun is over, you can sit down with a nice cup of hot cocoa, relax and eventually sleep. While you are sleeping, you can dream about the next day being back to normal.
Thankfully, snow days only occur a few times a year. Are they supposed to be fun? It's really up to you to make the most out of it.
Good advice fro a snow day! Sleep and sleep some more -- time to hibernate!
