I am not a doctor, and this advice is not to be used as substitution for seeing a doctor. It is only meant to be educational. If you think you may have mesothelioma, see a doctor right away.
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos. Many people who have worked with asbestos in their jobs have contracted this disease.
The earlier mesothelioma is detected, the better chance you have at getting better. If you think you have mesothelioma, even if you aren't sure, you should see a doctor immediately.
So who gets this rare disease? Far more men get mesothelioma than women. Although, that is not to say that women do not contract the disease as well.
Everyone knows that smoking is bad for your health. However, what many do not know is that smoking also increases your risk at contracting mesothelioma.
Symptoms of mesothelioma may or may not include a dry cough, difficulty breathing, loss of weight, fever and night sweats. However, symptoms do not always show up. You may have mesothelioma without showing any symptoms.
Generally, symptoms of mesothelioma do not show up right away. If you feel you may have it, or have been exposed to asbestos, please consult your doctor.
