These quoted last words of the five famous people are widely accepted as the real thing by historians.
"I shall hear in heaven" - Ludwig Van Beethoven, German composer who suffered progressive impairment of his hearing for the last 29 years of his life. He died in 1827
"I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have" - Leonardo Da Vinci, Italian artist and inventor died in 1519.
"Dying is a very dull, dreary affair. And my advice to you is to have nothing whatever to do with it" - William Somerset Maugham was a famous British author who died in 1965.
"Go on get out! Last words are for fools who haven't said enough" - Karl Marx the German philosopher who died in 1883 said these words to his housekeeper after she asked if he had a last message for the world.
"I am just going outside and I may be some time" - The words of Lawrence Oates, British explorer who walked to his death in 1912 in an attempt to save his starving companions during Scott's expedition to the Pole.
Good list. H5.
I love Stonewall Jackson's last words: "Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees."
