My family and I visited the Space Needle in Seattle one day. We hadn't planned on it but ended up there somehow and since we were just kicking around town we didn't have a camera with us. It wasn't until later I realized this was our daughter's first trip to the Space Needle. I wanted to record the fun day in her scrapbook but had to figure out how to do it without any photos. If this ever happens to you, here is how to create a scrapbook page, minus the photos, to remember your special day. You have lots of space on your page that would normally be used for a photo layout, so be creative and fill that space!
Find some unique paper that reflects the memory of that day. I found some paper that said "Seattle, Washington" with raindrops interspersed with the lettering that I used for the background on my scrapbook page.
Write a description of what happened on your special day. You can make this the feature of your page by writing a somewhat lengthy story and then matte it like you would a photo. Use this as the anchor for your page. You could also ask the other members of your family to contribute a written memory of that day to include in the page layout.
Use a postcard in place of a photo if your visit was to a well-known attraction. In place of a postcard, you could also use a tourist map of the area or pictures from a few travel brochures.
Include any ticket stubs from rides, concerts or events. Keep any extra ride tokens that you can adhere to the scrapbook page for extra dimension and sparkle.
Glue a smashed commemorative penny or quarter to your scrapbook page. There seems to be a resurgence in these machines that will smash a penny with a commemorative design.
Creative page layouts can often be constructed with a few simple items.
Great list.
