Brain exercise helps a individual improve over all brain function and slows down the process aging has on the brain. Exercising the brain can improve mental focus, memory capabilities and the ability to learn at a faster rate.
Regular physical activity will stimulate the bodies nervous system and function to allow the brain to function at a higher level. The exercise does not have to be rigorous, start slow and keep challenging yourself to new levels.
A recent Alzheimer study through York University in Toronto found that patients that was bilingual developed Alzheimer later in life. The study suggested that this happens due to people that are bilingual use more brain power to learn and speak different languages, thus if you do not use it you will loose it.
Learn to memorize your favorite song or your favorite poem to exercise your brain. The more you try to memorize the easier memorization will come to you when your naturally wanting to remember something.
Playing a instrumental is a great brain exercise. If you have ever wanted to learn to play the guitar or piano, don't wait any longer. It is never to late to start learning a musical instrument.
Games such a chess, poker, solitaire and sudoku are very good strategy games to play to exercise the brain. Playing video games that require strategy and forethought are also good way to exercise the brain.
