Theodor S. Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was a genius. Many Dr. Seuss books have been read (and reread) by millions of children (and parents) for years.
Dr. Seuss's book The Cat in the Hat is his best known and perhaps best loved. The Dr. Seuss character cat wears a giant red and white hat and a red bow tie. And The Cat in the Hat book rhymes like there's no tomorrow.
Just looking at the cover of this amazing book puts a smile on my face. Yellow with such colorful fish! Again, the rhyming in this Dr. Seuss book is pure pleasure to read and to hear.
This Dr. Seuss book may not be on every child's bookshelf, but it really should be. Gerald McBoing Boing is a noise making boy. This Dr. Seuss character is an actual boy, not a funny looking creature, who "doesn't speak words, he goes boing boing instead." And the video of Gerald McBoing Boing is just hilarious, too.
Dr. Seuss's Fox in Sox book teams Fox with Mr. Knox. They go about their business with tongue twisting fun that just keeps getting more difficult to say. Therefore, kids love it.
Sam is told throughout this Dr. Seuss book that green eggs and ham are not fit for consumption. He would not, could not, but then he does.
What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
My son loved the cat in the hat the most as well. I think the cat in the hat is the reason why my son reads so well.
Great choices - too bad you could't squeeze the Grinch in there!
My granddaughter's bedroom has Dr. Seuss characters painted on it. It is pretty awesome. Nice list of books. Good job.
Love those Dr. Seuss books! High 5

I LOVE Dr. Seuss!! I give the "Oh, the Places You'll Go" to all high school and college grads! Great list!!
Love Dr. Seuss' books. Great job.
Good choices for Dr. Seuss' easy to read books. I really like some of his longer ones best.
Memorized them practically from reading them so often to my kids when they were small.
