All visitors to this center get the opportunity to view manatees that gather in the clean, warm water canal between the Big Bend Power Station and Tampa Bay. In addition to the manatee observation platforms, the center features a walkway that takes visitors into the mangrove habitat. Hundreds of varieties of birds, fish and animals live here amid the native coastal vegetation. There is also a gift shop and cafe.
Big Cat Rescue is the world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility and located right in Tampa. This wildlife area and reservation is host to various wild animals such as leopards, tigers and lions. It is used mostly as an educational facility to educate visitors about wildcats, their habits and rescues. Most of these animals were taken from owners who believed they could keep wild animals as pets.
The TECO Line Streetcar System is a 2.7 mile line serving the dining and entertainment destinations in Ybor City, the Channel District and downtown Tampa. Operating until late on Fridays and Saturdays, the TECO Line Streetcar features 11 stations, each equipped with ticket vending machines. The TECO Line Streetcar is a fun, historical trip that is more than just getting you to your destination.
This quaint and historic community is located in the heart of Tampa, just south of downtown. As one of Tampa's oldest neighborhoods, Hyde Park showcases beautiful pre-1940's architecture in styles such as Tudor, Classic and Colonial. Many homes in this area have been restored and renovated. The village offers more than 50 shops, restaurants and movie theaters. The community dates back all the way to 1879.
Bayshore Boulevard is located in South Tampa, close to downtown Tampa and right next to Tampa General Hospital. It's a long winding sidewalk that takes you along the bay. Many locals rollerblade, bike, walk, run and jog along to trail. It's great for those who want to get a good workout or just take some time to enjoy the water and all the beautiful homes in the area.
