You planned a vacation, you are getting excited to establish your destination and then you still have to think about returning to the office. Inform your customers that you are away for a short time. As people step in your office you might want to have a sign just to make it fun, or you want to inform them verbally of your absence.
Write an e-mail for those that are not walking in your office, explaining for how long are you out.
Give your cell phone number to friends and family and those clients that you might have to follow up with.
Update your Social Media profile status, then people will now that you are temporarily out of reach.

Turn On the Out of Office Assistant; remember to list the dates you are out of the office and unavailable.
De-clutter - your desk, your e-mail account, clean out the send/trash boxes. When planing the return allow you some time to be jotting through the e-mail and phone messages and take care of the most important one first. Prioritize who to answer via e-mail or phone.
If you plan ahead and ensure yourself with such organized approach, you will enjoy much more your vacation, and the time spend away will bring you back relaxed, re-energized and refreshed.
