This is my list of who I consider the top five fitness gurus.
It was reported that Jack Lalanne kept working out two hours daily until the day before he died. He was a great fitness mentor and had an incredible ability to motivate people. He helped make it trendy to juice your fruits and vegetables for both the young and old.
His workout outfit has and will always be made fun of. Despite his choice in clothes, he has helped many people get up and move around and lose a great deal of weight.
Has been thought of as more of a fitness writer, but his books and articles have inspired many people to really take control of their bodies. He also helped make winning cash prizes for body transformation contests popular.
He created his own type of martial art/aerobics brand called Tae Bo. A lot of the cardio kickboxing classes you see at your local gym (although they would never admit it) is based on Tae Bo. It's much different than traditional aerobics and is more fun.
Who could forget Jane Fonda? She has numerous workout videos and inspired many people to workout at home. This has helped a lot of people who didn't feel confident enough to go to the gym or people who wanted to get an aerobics workout without attending a class with multiple people.
All these people have helped inspire and motivate those who were looking to become healthy. All of their styles are different, but they all work.
