Located in San Jose, California, this house is also known as the house that never ends as the owner kept adding on. Some rooms have doors that lead to no where. Built by the Winchester Rifle heiress, the house contains 160 rooms. Many say that Sarah still roams the halls.
Located in Fall River, Mass, Lizzie Border is known by the old school yard saying, "Lizzie Border took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks, when she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41," which came from the incident in the house where her father and stepmother were murdered. Lizzie stood trial for the infamous murder that took place 100 years ago, and was found not guilty. The house was turned into a Bed and Breakfast and you can actually stay in the same room that Lizzie's parents were killed.
Built in 1960, the mansion was home to a prominent St. Louis family, the Lemp's. A family member died under mysterious circumstances, four took their own lives and another died of a heart attack leaving behind stories of what may have happened in the house to cause all the deaths.
Located in Villisca, Iowa, in 1912 a mass murder wiped out at the entire J.B. Moore family of 8. The murder was never solved and many believe that spirits of the family are still there.
Located in Mitchell, Indiana, Whispers was built in 1899 by Dr. John Gibbons. The doctor worked there and also was known to care for orphaned children and one child named Rachel accidentally started a fire in the house and was so badly burned she died two days later. The doctor's own daughter died from pneumonia, and many more deaths occurred in the house. People say they can hear people whispering in the house.
