There are several steps to save energy at home. You will also be saving money.
Unplug some of your appliances because they drain electricity. Of course, you won't be able to unplug something like a refrigerator, but you can unplug televisions, toasters, curling irons and phone chargers. Get a power strip and switch it off and on when you are not using the items. This will save energy at home and money.
We are being forced to use compact fluorescent light bulbs because they save energy at home. They use up to 75 percent less energy than the old standard light bulbs. They also release less carbon dioxide into the air. If you have stock piled the older light bulbs, use them sparingly if you want to save money and energy.
Save energy at home by not buying bottled water. If you are purchasing bottled water, you are wasting energy. Bottled water is transported and a lot of fuel is burned to get it to stores near you. If you purchase an inexpensive water filter for your faucet, you will save money and energy in the long run.
Pay your bills online to save on postage, paper and gas. You will also be saving your own energy. If all of the people in the United States paid their bills online, 18.5 million trees would be saved each year. If you still insist on helping the United States Post Office stay in business, mail your bills from home instead of driving to the post office.
Clean your home with things like vinegar and baking soda to save energy at home. Vinegar can be used to disinfect and baking soda can be used to gently scour sinks. These are better for the environment than chemical cleaning agents. It also saves you gas money by not running to the store as often.
Coming back for another h5 and a congratulations on the front page spot!
