Most people love the taste and smell of cinnamon especially when it is baked in a sweet dessert and served still warm. But, did you know that this spice had some amazing health benefits as well?
Studies suggest that small amounts of cinnamon taken every day may reduce blood sugar levels in those people suffering from type 2 diabetes. It also believed that cinnamon may mimic insulin and even increase the production of natural insulin.
Studies have also shown that ingesting cinnamon may also be good for your heart as cinnamon lowers LDL cholesterol levels (bad cholesterol) while having no effect on HDL (good cholesterol) levels.
When several patients who suffered from chronic arthritis pain were given a teaspoon of honey with cinnamon added every day for several weeks they found that their joint pain reduced significantly.
Once used for athlete's foot cinnamon has shown itself to prevent or at least slow down the growth of bacteria. There is some evidence that this spice can prevent illness from E coli.
There is growing evidence that cinnamon may help improve certain mental functions. Allowing people to think more clearly and also improving memory. This may be good news for many of us who are getting older.
There are several other potential benefits of cinnamon that are now being studied. It is nice to know that something that tastes this good is actually good for us.
Great benefits. I will use it more.

Thanks for great info.
I've heard this before, and always try to get a little cinnamon in my diet (often with apples or a cup of coffee). It should be noted, however, that cinnamon can be toxic in high doses, so people should avoid putting it on EVERYTHING...
Great list! H5
My family uses cinnamon essential oil as aromatherapy during winter. Two more facts: cinnamon warms the body and cleanses the blood. H5
