If you live in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, you're about to get back the hour they stole from you last Spring. How will you spend it?
Of course the number one bonus is the extra hour of sleep. That is, if you don't have young children who don't know how to tell time or reset their body rhythms according to time zone shifts. I wish sweet dreams to those of you who are fortunate enough to sleep through your extra hour. Sadly, I'll have to find other ways to occupy mine.
Celebrate Eastern Standard Time by staying up until the official clock change time of 2:00 AM. Then call everyone you know to remind them to change their clocks. Let them know you are concerned they might forget and miss out on that extra hour of sleep.
It's Sunday morning and you're up an hour early with nothing else to do. Why not decorate for Christmas? You're always complaining about the lack of time to complete all of your holiday tasks. Well here you are with an hour to spare so get out there and string up those lights.
Throw a Return to Eastern Standard Time party. Tell your friends, family and neighbors that you want to celebrate your spare hour with the people who matter most. Make it a pot luck feast. When your loved ones arrive, set the casseroles in the kitchen and then stall over beverages and small talk. After an hour, look at your watch and exclaim, "Will you look at the time! Where did the hour go?!" Then usher them out while explaining that you really had just the one hour to spare and now you have to tend to your scheduled affairs. You've just scored a week's worth of casseroles!
By 5:00 it will be dark. Take advantage of the early nightfall and send the kids to bed. If they complain it is too early, just tell them, "Look outside, it's dark, of course it is bedtime!"
I need a way to store and use my extra hour later.
The extra hour was fun! I doubled my crochet time and got 10 extra rows on my rug!
I really enjoyed the extra hour!
A funny read! @ListingtoTheLeft It's a sure bet a certain relative in Arizona will be calling us now at all sorts of crazy hours...she can never remember the time change!!
I created a list for LM5 because I would like to hit the 10 streak...forgot about the hour set-back and posted it AFTER the change...so...*snif pout dribble* I get to start all over again building my 10....oh well, glad I have some things I want to write about, huh? *going off to make a casserole now*
I've always done the sleep thing. :) Creative thinking here.
I love the potluck idea! I'm doing this next year, for sure. lol
haha!!! how great!! I feel like a nap too! LOL
I like to sleep an extra hour. Gotta make up for the hour they took from me in the spring.
Good suggestions for that extra hour!!
No wander this got on the front page. You picked a sure winner. Congradlations!
Great ideas to spend that extra hour. Of course, Arizona is so weird, it doesn't change the clocks. Ever. I'm stuck.
I've had friends call at two to remind me, LOL! I really love the pot luck suggestion. Yall come to my house next year and bring the casseroles. =)))
Bossy! You can call me. I was up early! Fun list.
Very funny....I actually did that once with the kids...they came back downstairs within 10 minutes when they looked at their bedroom clocks! lol
So glad to see this on the front page! Congratulations!
I loved this list very funny! 5*
Your ListMy5 is a great way to start the Eastern Standard time. Thank you for the humor. Lots of smiles.
Very funny! I wrote a similar list, but I love your humor. Now, I just need to get on the phone to my friends for the party! Just think of the additional time you can score by not cooking, all week!
