This is the easiest method I know to reduce the amount of caffeine in a cup or pot of tea. All you need is loose tea or teabags, strainer and water that has been heated to the recommended temperature (according to the type of tea).
This method naturally decaffeinates tea just before you drink it; so only use enough loose tea or teabags for the appropriate serving amounts. Check the box or package for the amount of tea per serving.
The key to reducing the caffeine in tea is water that has been heated to the right brewing temperature based on the type of tea you are using. Add just enough water to cover the tea leaves or teabags.
It only takes about 30 seconds to naturally reduce about 80% of the caffeine in a cup or pot of tea. Cover the cup with a saucer or the pot with a lid and let it steep.
Pour the tea through a strainer and discard the liquid. Place the wet tea leaves or teabags back into the cup or pot and re-fill with heated water. Steep again according to tea type, strain and serve. You will still be able to enjoy the rich flavor of the tea.
