Typically, there are a few large, green, clean and fenced dog parks with shade, trees, shrubs, bushes, pet waste stations, and water. Dogs are welcomed in stores and restaurants. Carmel By the Sea Has Gone to the Dawgs

When your dog is begging for a vacation, bring Fido to Carmel, known as one of the most dog-friendly towns in America. For many good reasons. Carmel beach is a great place for dogs to play off leash. Pet stores galore where dogs rule and drool like Diggidy Dog, a dog and cat boutique. Many restaurants allow your dog to eat with you as well as pet friendly inns such as Doris Day's Cypress Inn. And you gotta visit the famous Fountain of Woof at the Carmel Plaza on Ocean Avenue where your pooch can slurp it up to her canine's delight.
