Online class reunion planning. How do your and your classmates get started?

Creating a Site

If members of your graduating class are tech savvy, it will be easy to set up a website that is both secure and user friendly. Another option includes online, class reunion templates. GoDaddy.com is one site to look to for online help.

Six Degrees of Separation

Now that your website is up and running, how do you get the word out to your former classmates? Many friends may already be members of sites such as classmates.com. To track down other members, you may have to use old-fashioned footwork. Example: If your sister-in-law works with your classmate's cousin, you have an in. There is more than one way to find a friend from school. Check to see if your school has a school online community.

Tag, You're It!

Name tags. These can be done by hand, but it is far easier to order class reunion name tags from an online source such as, reunionnametags.com. Note: The older you are, the larger the print needs to be on the name tags. Ladies, if the guys are staring at your chest at your fortieth class reunion, it just means they're trying to read your name!

Date, Time and Place

Long before you even start planning your class reunion online, it's important to line up the locale of your reunion. Make the necessary down-payment to the hotel, Moose Lodge, or wherever your class reunion is to take place. Also, give thought to the time of year you want to hold your class reunion. Fun and Safety Go Hand-In-Hand

It is far too easy to get drunk and silly at a momentous event such as a class reunion. If your intention is to drink at your reunion DO NOT DRIVE following the event. Referring back to #4, date, time and place -- hotels may be the premier locale for a class reunion, since guests have a safe place to go to "sleep it off."




Final Thoughts

Online class reunion planning can be a bit of a challenge, but if done correctly the memories will last a lifetime.
