Massage Techniques are commonly used for a number of health related reasons. Did you know that there are several types of Massage Techniques? Well, here we take a closer look to understand all the marvelous massage techniques available at health clubs, spas, and treatment centers.
The Swedish massage uses very long and stimulating techniques from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Swedish massage is performed on clients to relax the body and soothe aches and pains. The long soothing strokes are thought to increase blood flow which helps relax the body.
Athletes prefer the Sports Massage Techniques which deep knead targeted parts of the body that are either sore or have tight muscles. This type of massage is thought to loosen muscles and help prevent sports injuries.
Shiatsu Massage uses careful probing using the thumbs, knuckles, elbows, and yes...feet to the pressure points in the body. Shiatsu Massage is thought to free any blockages in the body and ease aches and pains.
Thai Massage uses stretching and reflexology along with palm massage over the body. The Thai Massage is thought to increase flexibility, stretch tight muscles, and realign the body.
The Hot Stone Massage generally uses Basalt stones which are placed on the pressure points on the body and inserted between the toes on the feet. The Hot Stone Massage is thought to greatly benefit the person by inducing deep relaxation. Also releases tension in tight muscles and joints.
